High-end developer Anchor Land Holdings, Inc. formally launched last Saturday, February 19, its signature project in Manila’s Chinatown.
The 57-storey Anchor Skysuites which is destined to become the tallest skyscraper not only in Binondo but in all other Chinatowns all over the world outside of China.
The event will be highlighted by the inauguration and opening of the project’s swanky three-storey showroom along Salazar Street, just off Ongpin Street and across President Tea House, at 9 a.m.
The ultra-modern showroom itself is perhaps the biggest and most sophisticated in the Philippines, complete with an audio visual room and meeting rooms, among others. And, with a floor area of more than 1,600 sqm, it is a posh condominium in its own right.
The showroom provides a rich textual detail of the actual units of Anchor Skysuites, from the floor materials to the walls, air conditioning units, furniture and fixtures. It contains four typical units: 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, 4-bedroom and a loft type unit.
The showroom lobby features a baby grand piano and a 12-foot high scale model of Anchor Skysuites. The ground floor also has the audio-visual room that will provide visitors a unique perspective of the project’s grand scale.
The simple but elegant opening ceremonies will kick off with the traditional ribbon-cutting to be led by ALHI Chairman Stephen Lee and Vice Chairman Steve Li. They will be joined by the project consultants and selected guests. Live entertainment will be provided by a string quartet throughout the day.
The launching signals a busy year for Anchor Land, which is simultaneously undertaking seven projects this year. ALHI Chairman Lee said that aside from Anchor Skysuites, construction works are in full swing in their three other projects: The SoleMare Parksuites Phase I near Macapagal Boulevard at the ASEANA Business Park, Two Shopping Center along Cuneta Avenue in Pasay City, and the Wharton Parksuites along Masangkay Street, also in Binondo.
The company has recently broken ground with its Admiral Baysuites and with SoleMare Parksuites Phase II while a seventh project, Clairemont Hills, will be launched by the second quarter of the year.
Company officials said owning a unit at Anchor Skysuites would be like living on top of the world, with a majestic view of the entire metropolis, and the cloud-kissed structure will also have abundant sunlight all day long owing to its sophisticated, feng shui-harmonious architectural design.
"It is designed to change the landscape of Manila forever," said Vice Chairman Li. "It will be the ultimate tribute to the success of the hardworking, affluent Chinese and Filipino-Chinese residents of Binondo."
Rising in the heart of Manila's Chinatown, Anchor Skysuites will cater almost exclusively to the Filipino-Chinese market whose growing influence and impeccable taste for luxury will be reflected in every detail and every corner of the breakthrough project.

The high-ceilinged lobby (6.5 meters high) and reception area will be equipped with a US advanced security monitoring system, a mail room, a guest waiting area and a hotel-style elevator for the convenience of tenants and guests, Li added.

Li said that when they conceptualized the Anchor Skysuites, they took into consideration the evolution of the global trend in luxury living, where exclusive residential buildings have their own public facilities exclusively for its tenants, and where the service and amenities are all top of the class.
“We are never hindered by the cost involved in bringing to the market such opulent landmark as the Anchor Skysuites. And we are confident that, with the sky literally the limit, this project will push the barrier of luxury to its ultimate,” he said.
Li particularly enumerated the amenities at 8th floor clubhouse, which incl ude a mini-theater; a kiddie room; two KTV rooms; an internet café; dance, aerobics, yoga and pilates room; a game room with air-hockey, pool tables and bar counter; a piano room and violin or guitar room; and a tutorial/study room.
The 8th floor clubhouse mezzanine, on the other hand, boasts of a 25-meter lap pool, kiddie pool, multi-function room, waiting lounge, badminton court, basketball court, table tennis, children's playground, jogging path, a landscaped garden, and a chess area, among others.
And, anticipating the need for utmost protection and privacy of the privileged elite who will call the Anchor Skysuites home, Li said all common areas in the whole building would have security cameras, without any blind spot. Highly trained security personnel are also always at hand to deal with any eventuality.
Another interesting feature of the Skysuites is the VIP coffee club that will seat up to a maximum of 30 members at a time. The club is exclusive to unit owners, and will also be equipped with business office services and wireless Internet connectivity to make it a truly functional, virtual office, right in the skies.
