Premium developer Anchor Land Holdings, Inc. (PSE: ALHI) announced that work on its signature project in Manila’s Chinatown, the 56-storey Anchor Skysuites, has switched to high gear with more than 50 percent of the foundation work already completed just a week after the project’s formal launching last February 19.
ALHI Vice Chairman Steve Li said concrete pouring on the mezzanine level has likewise been started during the weekend of February 26, as scheduled, to ensure that the company will meet or even advance the turnover of its units.
Li said that while work on the foundation goes full throttle, erection of the construction crane has also commenced in preparation for the structural works that will immediately follow.
He said ALHI has also awarded the contracts for the mega project’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection works to top notch contractors, another indication of the excellent work progress on Anchor Skysuites.
Actual work on the landmark project started in May 2010 with the bored piling for the foundation, and the project is scheduled for turnover to buyers by the last quarter of 2014.
With 56 storeys of habitable floors, Anchor Skysuites will be the tallest skyscraper not only in Binondo but in all other Chinatowns all over the world outside of China. As such, Binondo residents have been eagerly anticipating every bit of news about the exciting project that will certainly change the face of Chinatown.
During the project’s formal launch last February 19, officials also inaugurated its swanky three-storey showroom along nearby Salazar Street, just off Ongpin Street and across President Tea House, to the delight of Chinatown’s elite.
The ultra-modern showroom boasts a floor area of more than 1,600sqm, making it as perhaps the biggest and most sophisticated in the Philippines. It has modern meeting rooms and an audio visual room that provides guests and clients with a dazzling presentation about the Skysuites’ fabulous features.
The model units themselves provide a rich textual detail of the actual furnishings and fittings at Anchor Skysuites, from the floor materials to the walls, air conditioning units, glassware and kitchenware. There are four fully furnished, fully fitted typical units at the showroom for a 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, 4-bedroom and a loft type unit.
The showroom lobby features a 12-foot high scale model of Anchor Skysuites, also one-of-its-kind in terms of scale and beauty befitting such future landmark.
