Explaining the process of wind tunnel testing, Derek says, “We construct a scale model and we build proximity buildings around it which can dramatically influence the structure we’re testing. We simulate the wind passing over a variety of upwind terrain as it intercepts the development.”

“The turbulence of the wind is absolutely key because those turbulence eddies can either buffet or move a building. We evaluate that turbulent response with how people in the building will perceive it or how it will influence the structure,” he adds.

Comprehensive insights into the wind environment enabled Anchor Land to design a wind-resistant window system for One Legacy Grandsuites.
